Deofrann is a graduate from the University of the Free State and was admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa in 2000. In January 2001 Deofrann joined Herbert Smith Solicitors in London, United Kingdom as a foreign attorney in their Civil Litigation Department. During his employment with Herbert Smith Solicitors, Deofrann gained extensive experience in civil litigation in the corporate market.
Deofrann left Herbert Smith Solicitors for the Insolvency Services, an executive agency of the Department of Trade and Industry of the United Kingdom. Whilst at the Insolvency Services Deofrann acted on behalf of insolvency practitioners, government departments (such as Inland Revenue and Customs & Excise), creditors, bankers and other interested parties in litigation related matters.
