De louw graduated in Law from the University of the Free State in 1996 and was admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa in 1999. In 2000 De Louw joined Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer (the third largest law firm in the world) in London, United Kingdom as a foreign attorney in their Commercial Department.
De louw gained considerable experience at Freshfields in large property, merger and acquisition agreements and acted on behalf of various international companies, individuals and legal entities. On his return from the UK, De louw joined Sappi Limited, a JSE listed company, as an independent legal advisor.
Whilst at Sappi his duties included legal and commercial advice to various international companies, including property related matters, labour relations, tax, third party liabilities, legal opinions and insurance. De louw has written numerous articles and guidelines relating to property law, commercial law and labour law during his career.
